Presenting "Gems of Hope"
"Gems of Hope" takes a brief historical journey down the many diverse paths of what is now known as the African American Spirituals.
These songs, to the African slaves, were the precious gems that provided a way for them to withstand their hardships and offered a means of hope; a hope for freedom.
Through their music, born out of the womb of oppression and from their misery, blood, sweat and tears, the African slaves have managed to leave behind a miraculous legacy to the African American people; and a phenomenal contribution to the cultural arts of America.
